| Our cottages are furnished and equipped to a very high standard are clean, comfortable and spacious. Set in a peaceful and tranquil location, below the famous Cheesewring rock formation they are ideally located to explore the north and south coasts of Cornwall and Devon. The view from our cottages over moorland and farmland to the distant hills of Dartmoor is stunning at any time of the year, but in the spring and early summer there is an ever changing picture of colour, the sunrise and cloud formations can be spectacular. |
| MINIONS is situated just outside the market town of Liskeard, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the heart of the Cornish countryside with stunning views over to Dartmoor's hills. Our central location offers our visitors easy access to coastal towns and villages on both north and south coasts, Padstow, Tintagel, Port Isaac, to name just a few, and ideally placed to explore both Devon and Cornwall. The picturesque fishing ports of loe and Polperro are twenty minutes drive away and Plymouth with all the city facilities and the famous Barbican and Hoe is forty minutes away. National Trust properties in the area include Cotehele and the magnificent Lanhydrock House, at the end of a pleasant drive along the beautiful Glynn Valley. The Eden project and the Camel Cycle Trail is a short drive away |
| Being a family business, we manage the cottages personally providing first class accommodation with a high standard of comfort, taking great pride in their cleanliness and appearance. Beds are made up for our guests on arrival, bed linen, bath, hand towels, tea towels, hot water are included at no extra charge. | The Farm formerly owned by the Duchy of Cornwall is approached by a long private drive and set in the middle of 26 acres on the uplands of Bodmin moor. Cheesewring Farm was built in the mid 1800s as the former quarry managers residence. We are away from the crowds and busy roads, this is an ideal place for quiet relaxation and an excellent base for enjoyment of many delights in Cornwall. |
| There are all sorts of activities available when you stay in our cottages. There are lots of walks, with direct access from the farm on to the moor, the area is packed with mining heritage and mythical stone circles and standing stones. For the more active there is golf, sailing, riding and much more all within easy reach and a short drive from our cottages. |
Just
a pleasant stroll away is the hamlet of 'Minions', the moorland
sheep and cattle roam freely through the village which has a shop, post
office and tea-room, the Cheesewring Hotel "the local Pub" has
an excellent food menu and range of beers. The three stone circle formations
known as the 'hurlers' are just a few yards further overlooked by Caradon
Hill and the reminders of Cornish mining now long since gone |
