The Cheesewring and South East Cornwall
Something of a climbing backwater, the most popular and well known crag being The Cheesewring, a large desolate quarry sat on top of Bodmin Moor home to a number of outsranding routes.
There is something for everyone in the area (sort of); whether you fancy remote sea cliffs (of sometimes questionable rock), inland granite routes (sport, trad, moorland and quarried) or a spot of bouldering. When taken with a pinch of salt the area is well worth a visit.
Guidebooks
The Cheesewring and Inland Cornwall (Author: Sean Hawken Publisher: St. Ives Publishing Company) Has an awesomely detailed Historical section; some will like this and some won't! Note: Toni Carver, one of the original activists of the area, runs the publishing company and no doubt it is largely thanks to his enthusiasm that the guide exists.New route information
